Install a template

Updated Sep 10, 2026

A template creates a ready-made setup — sheets with sensible fields, views already configured, and sample records showing how it is meant to be used.

Install one

  1. Open the templates gallery.
  2. Browse or search for what you need.
  3. Preview it to see what it contains.
  4. Install, and choose where it should live.

What you get

A sheet (sometimes several), with fields already typed correctly, and views set up — usually a table and a board, sometimes a calendar. Often a few sample records so the views are not empty while you look at them.

Then make it yours

A template is a starting point, not a contract:

  • Delete the sample records once you understand the shape.
  • Rename fields to your vocabulary. If you say "client", do not keep "customer".
  • Remove what you will not maintain. An unused field is a column everyone scrolls past.
  • Add what is missing. No template knows your business.

The fastest way to learn Atwork is to install something close to your work and take it apart.

Starting from a template when adding fields

The field picker also offers Start from a template when you are building a sheet — a ready-made set of fields for a lead tracker, task board, content calendar and similar. Useful when the sheet exists but you do not want to think about which fields it needs.

Notes

  • Installing creates new content; it does not touch anything you already have.
  • It lands in the space you choose, so who can see it follows that space's membership.
