Use Atwork from an AI assistant (MCP)

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Atwork runs an MCP server, so an AI assistant that speaks MCP can work with your workspace directly — reading your sheets and creating records, with your permission and within your access.

Connect

Add Atwork as an MCP server in your assistant, using:

https://mcp.atwork.so/mcp

You will be asked to sign in and approve access. After that the assistant can use your workspace as a tool.

What it can do

  • Search your workspace to find a sheet, page or record by name.
  • Read rows from a sheet, and aggregate over them.
  • Create and update records using ordinary language for values — an option label or a person's name, rather than an internal id.
  • Read your tasks and your calendar.

So "add a project for Meridian Health, due the 12th, owned by Elena" becomes a real record, and "what is overdue across my sheets?" is answered from your actual data.

It acts as you

The assistant sees exactly what you see — no more. It cannot reach a space you are not a member of. Anything it writes is attributed to you, so treat it as your own edits.

Worth knowing

  • Sessions expire; if calls start failing, sign in again from your assistant.
  • Reading a very large sheet returns a page at a time. Ask for a filtered slice rather than everything.
  • Check writes that matter before relying on them, the same as any assistant output.

API instead?

If you are writing software rather than talking to an assistant, use an API token and call the API directly.
